About the Program

This is for athletes of all ages. We will start with a free functional movement screen to identify and correct any flaws with movement. Then we will develop a sport specified program for the individual. For speed and agility to work the muscles need to be healthy and warm. We will teach specific warm up and mobility techniques so that they can prepare themselves for training. A stretching program will be taught so that the athletes learn how to stretch properly to prevent injuries. Too many times have I seen injuries from improper warm up and stretching, and too many times have I seen improper form in the weight room from lack of mobility. I want the athletes to become better at all aspect of fitness. Another type of training that will be taught that I think is underused and underrated is deceleration training. Too many coaches teach their athletes how to accelerate quicker but not enough teach the athlete how to slow down properly. Many knee injuries (ACL, MCL tears) happen from either landing incorrectly, say from a jump block in volleyball to cutting incorrectly and having unwanted forces placed on the knee (knee valgus) so with deceleration training we will teach the athletes how to execute the skills needed to become a more proficient player.
